Actor Katherine Heigl is opening up about how she was raised in the "white bubble" and how the realisation has impacted how she raises her multiracial adopted children. In an interview with her, Katherine Heigl said in the past that when it comes to skin color there is no difference. After speaking with her sister, who was adopted from South Korea she realized just the different ways society treats them. "I inquired of my sister, Meg to tell me if she'd been treated in one manner when she went walking around with our parents and in a different manner in the time she was by herself without them. Meg replied, "Oh yeah, always!" Heigl said to her parents: "That was when I discovered how naive I resulted in me feeling." Heigl said she got frustrated and thought it was important to focus her anger on helping the adopted children she has. Heigl has a son who is four year with Josh Kelley, her husband over the last 13 years. They adopted Nancy Leigh from South Korea aged 12 years old in 2009. then Adalaide whom was eight years old older and was Black in 2012.
