Kristen Noel Kristy Swanson is an American actress who gained fame by playing Buffy Summers in the cult Buffy the Vampireslayer film. She also played Becky Granger in the telefilm Nightingales as well as the very short-lived NBC show of the same nameErica Paget on the CBS drama Early Editionand Marlowe Viccellio in Psych. As a California native she was attracted to acting from the time she was a child. Her career began in advertising, where she appeared in several commercials. The first time she appeared on television was the NBCs It's Your Move sitcom episode from 1984. Her debut was on the large screen two years later in the romance comedy Pretty in Pink. Swan is known for her blonde lisp and her breathless voice. In recent years, she's moved from playing main characters to secondary characters. Flowers in the Attic won her the Young Artist Award in the category of Best Young Actress in Horror or Mystery Motion Picture in 1989.
