One child was strapped onto my back as the other crawled in the playpen. I stayed up all night days over months of sanding, and taking wallpaper off, all with one child. Ha! It was beginning to be clear, but was still far from being finished. It was going to take an enormous amount of effort and my personal favorite brands furnishings for this house. My three sons and I were looking for the hidden treasures going to estate sales in order to help ensure that my spending was under control. On the streets I was able to rent a tiny area and then sold a few items. There were so many pieces I didn't know what to do and my storage space was a mess. I held open houses at my residence where 1 000 visitors would pass through during a weekend. visitors could buy anything from the ground level. Growing Days was created in this home. My business was not only expanding, but so was my sweet family too. It was like I found the ideal equilibrium between motherhood and launching my venture. Growing Days just seemed to fit. Nora joined us in 2013 as our 4th baby. I loved where my business was taking me, but I felt like I needed to take a breather. I took a pause from making vintage furniture, and I slowed down my speed to be at home to raise the children. In the beginning, this was what I wanted. After several minutes. A lot of people contacted me for help on home improvement and decorating. Most of these people were those who had walked through my house during open house for furniture! After a while I started taking on clients according to my schedule. In no time, I was managing numerous accounts as well as a home renovations business. When you first spoke to me about my business in home renovation, I laughed. As I reflect back, it still makes me smile.
